Clubs - if you need clarification on any of the five main IRB Directives contact the Society.

1. Offside from kicks
2. Offside at a ruck – team not in possession

3. Illegal maul formation. Line out

4. Scrum engagement sequence
5. The tackle Ball on the ground – no tackle.
The tackle  – not releasing ball/player
Players remaining on feet must play the ball from behind the tackled player
At a tackle, players must play ball from directly behind the ball and tackled player
Tackler not moving away from the ball and the tackled player
Players falling on or over the players lying on the ground after a tackle

Their aim is to ensure that there is an equal contest for possession and to allow the game to flow more freely.
